Meghan Hurley Backofen, LCSW, is the Core Sexual Abuse treatment provider for Garfield County Department of Human Services. She is the mental health coordinator working at River Bridge Regional Center. For the past fifteen years, Meghan has specialized in providing mental health treatment to child sexual abuse survivors and their families. Additionally, Meghan coordinates referrals to find clients an appropriate mental health provider, and works to respond to and prevent child sexual abuse by training mental health providers, community agencies, and parents.

Meghan is an Effective Providers for Victimized Children trainer for the American Psychological Association. Additionally, Meghan trains community agencies in dispelling common myths about sexual abuse and knowing how to respond when their clients disclose. Meghan offers parents 10 Tips on how to prevent child sexual abuse. Both of these courses are two hours in length. She has trained under Tony Mannarino, Judy Cohen and Esther Deblinger; in the TF-CBT Train-the-Consultant (TTC) Program and has also completed the TF-CBT Train the Supervisor program offered by the TFCBT creators.
