Glenwood Subaru gives back to the community

Phil Long Glenwood Springs Subaru will present a check for $20,500 to River Bridge Regional Center as a part of the 2024 Subaru Share the Love Event at noon Thursday.
Attendees will include Phil Long Dealerships President and CEO Kevin Shaughnessy, Phil Long Dealerships Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Shawn Flynn and representatives from Subaru of America, River Bridge and Glenwood Springs Chamber of Commerce, along with employees and other partners, according to a news release.
This year’s donation brings the total amount of joint support to $72,500 by Subaru of America and Phil Long Glenwood Springs Subaru.
“River Bridge was selected for their impact and support provided to the growing number of child sexual assault victims in Pitkin, Garfield, Eagle, and Rio Blanco counties,” says the release. “This year’s donation will support the center’s operations, provide services for child victims of abuse, and implement programs and educational opportunities to help the community understand how to prevent child abuse.”
Mary Cloud, development director of River Bridge Regional Center, said in a statement that “at a time when many victim service organizations — including River Bridge — are facing deep uncertainty due to significant federal funding cuts, this partnership is not only impactful, it’s essential. We thank Subaru and the entire Glenwood Springs team for standing with us and with the children and families of our community.”
From Nov. 21 through Jan. 2, with every new Subaru purchased or leased, Subaru of America and Phil Long Glenwood Springs Subaru, together, donated $325 to each customer’s choice of local or national charities, including River Bridge Regional Center, The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, Make-A-Wish, Meals on Wheels America and the National Park Foundation. Additionally, Subaru of America and the retailer provided a donation for every Phil Long Subaru vehicle routine-service visit during the campaign period.
